A viewer’s request piano tutorial. “Ocean” is the name we associate today with this piece but the source of Chopin’s inspiration appears to have been quite different. As a descriptive title it fits the work well for modern tastes so I’ve kept this as a theme in the video. Ocean is a very playable study. Opinions differs as to it’s relative difficulty compared to his other studies. My own view is the underlying patters in this piece are beautifully simple and hope the video encourages those wishing to play this piece for the first time to do so. »
